Vacancy BSc Orientation teams

We’re hiring! We are looking for students to join our BSc orientation teams for Industrial Engineering and Management.

Would you like to enthuse and inform high school students (havo/vwo 3 and up) and their parents about your Bachelor’s degree programme? Then this might be an interesting opportunity!

The orientation teams consist of 2 - 5 students and play an important part in the organization of information events for prospective students (primarily Dutch 5/6 VWO students, but also international). The job entails a wide variety of tasks. This includes, for example, asking professors for lectures and tutorials, giving (online) presentations about the degree programme and preparing and teaching tutorials, practicals or workshops.

In addition, the orientation team also travels with the “Jouw Energie van Morgen” truck that visits schools and provides classes with information about energy in relation to physics, chemistry etc. For more information on this topic, please visit http://www.jouwenergievanmorgen.nl/.

Please note: Due to the coronavirus, for the time being, most information events have been moved to online.

Requirements:

•   Being enthusiastic about your degree programme

•   Ability to work in a team with shared responsibility

•   Flexible approach to work

•   Good presentation and communication skills

•   Ability to work with various audiences

•   Able to prepare and organize events and presentations independently

•   Proactive mindset

•   Bachelor’s student is preferred

•   Good command of both Dutch and English is required. A good command of German on top of that is an advantage. During many events, the language used is Dutch.

•   Available to start from October 2020.

On average, you will spend 2-4 hours a week working for the orientation team (0,05 FTE + on call for additional hours). However, the workload will not always be equally divided throughout the weeks.

Are you interested? Apply before Monday 5th of October by sending your motivation letter and CV to voorlichtingBeta@rug.nl. Please be sure to include the name of your Bachelor’s degree programme in the subject line.

After a selection of the applications, job interviews will be held on Thursday the 8th of October where applicants will be asked to give a 10 minute (online) presentation in English about their Bachelor’s degree programme.  Students will initially receive a contract from November 1st, 2020 until July 1st, 2021. After a positive evaluation, this contract may be extended.

If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email (IEMstudents@rug.nl) or give us a call!
