Are you interested in running a foundation and doing a board year while still studying? And would you like to go on a 3-week trip for almost nothing? Are you finalizing your bachelor, planning to start your master in the upcoming year, or are you a first year master student? Then this is the opportunity you don’t want to miss! The IEM-Project is searching for a new board 2020-2021. But what is the IEM-Project?
The IEM-Project is organized once every two years. It is a project in which IEM master students perform case-studies at interesting companies like AkzoNobel (Nouryon), VDL, Enexis or AAK. These consultancy cases are done in duos and demand 140 hours of work per student, which is spread over a time-period of 14 weeks. Through the acquisition of these consultancy cases, you will be able to organize a ‘free’ study trip that takes the complete group to a destination outside of Europe for 3 weeks. This summer we visited Colombia with our group of 30 IEM-Master students, while countries such as India, Chili, Brazil, United Emirates, and China were visited in previous years.
As the IEM-Project board you will be responsible for the organisation of the whole project. From calling companies that will provide the cases to promoting the project to master students and conducting the received applications with interested master students. Besides that, you will decide what the destination of the 3-week intercontinental trip will be and organize it by yourselves. This means that you will learn a lot in many disciplines, while becoming close with the other five board members. In short, this 2-year experience will
- Provide a board experience (10 hours/week), which could be extremely valuable for your future career;
- Let you experience how it is to run a consultancy company and learn a lot in multiple disciplines;
- Give you a (free) study-trip to a country outside Europe for 3 weeks;
- Result in a lot of fun activities and meetings with the rest of the board.
The applications for the IEM-Project board 2020-2021 will be open from the 11th of November until the 19th of January. Send your CV and motivation letter to iemproject@tbvlugus.nl before the 19th of January! If things are unclear or if you have any questions about how it is to be the board of the IEM-Project, you can contact the Current Board at any time!
