Why Lugus Board?

As a board member of Lugus, you will experience a year with lots of fun in the middle of a very dynamic study association. You will be in charge of everything this dynamic organisation has to offer and work together with a large group of highly motivated active Lugus members, your fellow board members, other associations, the degree programme and companies.

Being in the Lugus board is a tremendous experience which truly enriches your period of studies. Being a very young and dynamic organisation, Lugus offers you the possibilities to make changes and execute your ideas within the association. Our association represents a large group of students and has the possibilities to develop new ideas quickly, so the sky is the limit!

The applications open the 21st of January, and the deadline to apply for the Lugus board is the 15th of February 2019, 23:59. Your application should contain:

  • A motivation letter covering
    • A general motivation for a Lugus board year
    • A specific motivation for the function(s) you apply for
  • Your resume
  • An overview of the courses you are following / planning to follow from semester 1a 2019 until semester 2b 2020

All applicants will be invited for an interview after receiving their application. After the interviews, the board will be selected and all applications receive feedback. The Chairman is the end-responsible and the face of the association. Being up to date with all important matters in and outside the association is a typical aspect of this position. The Chairman makes sure that a proper functioning of the board is maintained and is responsible for the contact with parties related to the university.

The Secretary is responsible for all incoming and outgoing communication of the association. All promotion issued by both the board and the committees will be approved by the Secretary. Maintaining the database and keeping the administration up to date is also a typical responsibility.

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial policy and operations of the association. He/she constructs the budget and makes sure it is followed. Typical responsibilities are being up to date about the finances of the association and assisting committees in setting their budgets.

The Commissioner Internal affairs and Education is responsible for the contact with the main target audience of the association: students. He/she is responsible for the recruitment and selection of active members and for assisting the committees in their daily work. This is a very challenging management job, since you are the main contact person for all committees. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the organisation of, for example, Practise Sessions, Group Tutoring and Exam Support Sessions.

The Commissioner of Corporate Relations is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with companies. During the year, you make sure Lugus acquires enough money from sponsors. Apart from this, your responsibilities include the organisation of career-related events and assisting committees with their corporate relations.
