What are committees?
Committees form the foundation of our association. They are groups of members who put in effort by, for example, organizing activities ranging from parties to the Technology and Society Congress. There are also committees that don't organize events, but help with everything IT related or build the annual almanac. As a member of a committee, you meet weekly with your fellow committee members on Mondays. Together with them, you shape your own event(s) as the year advances. There are committees organizing social events, career events and personal development, so there is a committee for any interest.
Can I also do committee work?
All members of Lugus can join a committee, no matter how experienced you are. Committees require some of your time and effort, but the workload will not stand in the way of your studies. There are different moments at which you can apply for different committees, so check the application data carefully.
Why should I do committee work?
Committee work enriches your study time. You get to know a new group of enthusiastic people with whom you will organize an amazing activity. This requires quite some organizational skills. You will gradually develop these skills during your year as a committee. Committee work can be put on your resume to show off your hard-working attitude. If you are an active member, you will get rewarded by being invited to the Active Members Weekend and the Active Members Day, a very nice weekend organized to thank all the active members of Lugus!
